Cala Civette

Cala Civette

One of the most beautiful beaches on the Tuscan coast

It takes its name from the sixteenth-century tower, Torre Civette, which dominates the beach from the promontory.

Wild and uncontaminated, the bay is perfect for those who love the contact with nature. The pine forest that protects the beach is part of the Scarlino nature reserve. Its crystal clear sea is rich in fish: if you are passionate about diving it is a perfect point to admire the fish species typical of the Tuscan Maremma.

Torre Civette dates back to the 16th century: it was a strategic fortress of the Principality of Piombino, from there it was possible to see the whole gulf. The sixteenth-century appearance of the tower was changed during the eighteenth century and in the first half of the 1900s: today the tower and the farm are privately owned.
